Our founders

Dilyn Natur Guided by Nature was founded by Mia and Caroline in 2023. We’re both passionate about nature and living in an environmentally ethical way. We enjoy immersing ourselves in the ecology, geology, history, language, and mythology of our local area, and we’re both Eryri Ambassadors. Whilst our values and goals are aligned, we each bring unique yet complementary skills and experience to our venture.

Our values

Our inspiration for Guided by Nature comes from our love of being outdoors, our concern for the wellbeing of the Earth, and our desire to bring people together to improve their emotional wellbeing. We don’t ‘do’ mountains in the sense of ‘conquering’ the highest peaks. Rather, our walks and workshops give people the chance to experience walking the land in a connected and thoughtful way. We’re committed to running a business that supports people and nature to thrive together. We are Welsh learners, and we value the heritage and culture in which we live and work.

Care for the planet

The recovery of the natural world and the recovery of mental wellbeing go hand in hand. We believe that humanity needs a reciprocal relationship with nature, so we aim to foster gentle discussions with participants about the human impact on the places we visit, and how we may collectively feel moved to respond.

Care for people

We take a person-centred approach to all of our high-quality activities. We also take our duty of care seriously, looking after both the physical and emotional wellbeing of our participants. You can expect to enjoy a safe environment with us; one in which you feel supported to enjoy, learn and grow.

Care for culture & heritage

As people who do not originate in Wales, we acknowledge the history of cultural imperialism and its consequences. We recognise that Wales has had to fight to maintain its rich cultural identity. Through our commitment to learning the Welsh language and heritage, we do our best to support this.

Our partners

At Guided By Nature, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward. We enjoy working with like-hearted businesses and charities to generate wider social and environmental change.
