Funded by Gwynedd Council’s Seed Funding Programme / Ariennir gan Raglen Cyllido Cychwynnol Cyngor Gwynedd
Do you love to connect with nature and want to deepen this connection through art? Join a supportive and relaxed group run by artist & eco-therapist Caroline Schofield and artist & teacher Mary Thomas. Our bilingual workshop will be inspired by a walk up Moel Faban with views both across to the Carneddau and over to the Traeth Lafan tidal area. As it’s a bilingual course, we’ll be speaking in both Welsh and English.
In the morning we’ll connect with nature, with the landscape, and with the feeling of being out in the elements. We’ll enjoy a slow, steady walk up Moel Faban from Canolfan Cefnfaes in Bethesda. If the weather is fine we’ll stop to sketch and take visual field notes. If it’s wet we’ll take in the atmosphere by noticing how it is to be outdoors in the elements.
In the second half of the workshop, we’ll support you to create artwork indoors at Canolfan Cefnfaes. You’ll go home with some expressive sketches and a small booklet of your own artwork.
We’ll provide an art kit for the workshop that contains natural ink, pencils, and paper – and we’ll support you to connect deeply with nature while outdoors. We take a playful and fun approach to being artistic, and no experience is needed!
There is ample free parking at Canolfan Cefnfaes, and Bethesda is served by a number of bus routes.
Experience and prerequisites
- You must be able to walk at a steady pace for up to three hours. Half of this will be uphill, and it is sometimes steep.
- We’ll spend time sitting on the ground on mats to make art as we go along, so you need to feel physically able to do this.
- You should be happy to be out in all weather conditions, including rain and wind, and have appropriate clothing. Please read the kit list carefully before you sign up.

Taith Gerdded Celf a Gweithdy yn Bethesda
Ariennir gan Raglen Cyllido Cychwynnol Cyngor Gwynedd
Ydych chi wrth eich bodd yn cysylltu â natur ac eisiau dyfnhau'r cysylltiad hwn trwy gelf? Ymunwch â grŵp cefnogol ac ymlaciol sy’n cael ei redeg gan yr artist ac eco-therapydd, Caroline Schofield a’r artist ac athrawes, Mary Thomas.
Bydd ein gweithdy dwyieithog yn cael ei ysbrydoli gan daith gerdded i fyny Moel Faban gyda golygfeydd ar draws y Carneddau a draw i ardal lanw Traeth Lafan. Gan ei fod yn gwrs dwyieithog, byddwn yn siarad Cymraeg a Saesneg.
Yn y bore byddwn yn cysylltu â natur, gyda'r dirwedd, a chyda'r teimlad o fod allan yn yr elfennau. Cawn fwynhau taith araf, sefydlog i fyny Moel Faban o Ganolfan Cefnfaes ym Methesda. Os bydd y tywydd yn braf, byddwn yn stopio i fraslunio a chymryd nodiadau maes gweledol. Os yw hi'n wlyb, fe amsugnwn yr awyrgylch trwy sylwi sut beth yw hi i fod yn yr awyr agored yn yr elfennau.
Yn ail hanner y gweithdy, byddwn yn eich cefnogi i greu gwaith celf dan do yng Nghanolfan Cefnfaes. Byddwch yn mynd adref gyda rhai brasluniau llawn mynegiant a llyfryn bach o'ch gwaith celf eich hun.
Byddwn yn darparu pecyn celf ar gyfer y gweithdy sy’n cynnwys inc naturiol, pensiliau, a phapur – a byddwn yn eich cefnogi i gysylltu’n ddwfn â byd natur tra yn yr awyr agored. Rydym yn defnyddio agwedd chwareus a hwyliog at fod yn artistig, ac nid oes angen unrhyw brofiad!
Mae digon o le parcio am ddim yng Nghanolfan Cefnfaes, ac mae nifer o lwybrau bysiau yn gwasanaethu Bethesda.
Profiad a rhagofynion
- Rhaid i chi allu cerdded ar gyflymder cyson am hyd at dair awr. Bydd hanner y daith yn esgynnol, ac weithiau mae'n serth.
- Byddwn yn treulio amser yn eistedd ar y llawr ar fatiau i wneud celf wrth i ni fynd ymlaen, felly mae angen i chi deimlo'n gorfforol abl i wneud hyn.
