Moving with the ebb and flow of women’s lives

Guided By Nature is a female-led organisation so we know how it is to grapple with balancing the needs of our new company with our need for self-care and rest. Like us,  many women feel deeply connected to nature’s influence and how this tethers us to the ebb and flow of life. The cycles that govern the moon and seasons also govern us. So how can our inner nature align with our need to function in a world that is run by clock time and external demands? As a nature-based company, we look to the lessons found in the living world. These can show us how to stay true to our own needs whilst responding to the call of our vocational lives.

Nature’s rhythm

In nature, we have both masculine and feminine energy. The masculine is the energy of getting things done, it’s in sync with the demands of modern life. However, as we know, endlessly pushing ourselves along doesn’t serve us well in the long term. Feminine energy is more receptive and organic, it allows us to reflect, rest, and integrate what we learn. In a world that is built on getting on and grinding our way through we need to take care not to exceed our limits. Nature combines both the energies of doing and being to bring her greatest work to life.

Leading from the Feminine

In March, we ran Leading from the Feminine, a day-long walk & workshop for women who are self-employed or work in leadership roles. Together, we explored themes of how to balance our productivity with valuing our rest times. By learning from each other and from the natural world, our participants left with a fresh take on how they work and live. See the link below for our next walk in June 2024.
